That’s how my first Creative Director sold it to me. Not quite a professional footballer, actor, musician, or whatever it is that Hugh Hefner used to do, but close. 15 years on and I guess you could say that his little sales pitch worked. I’m still an advertising creative. And I still love what I do.
So what do I do exactly? Well, unlike my parents, it’ll make perfect sense when I say to you that I’m a copywriter by trade, but a big ideas man at heart. I moved to London in 2005 with hair on my head and a D&AD in my hand*, and since then I’ve been fortunate enough to work in some of the city’s best agencies, on the world’s biggest brands.
I’ve worked above, below and through the line. Created global integrated campaigns and tiny local ones. I’ve been called ‘Turkey of the Week’ and awarded ‘Employee of The Year’. Scooped a Lion along the way and swam with a few sharks - both the client kind and the bloody-big-Great-White-kind. All in all... I’ve done quite a bit.
These days you’ll find me going from agency to agency as a freelance Creative Director, where most recently I’ve won Samsung, Red Bull and Olympic Games pitches, for Publicis and Engine respectively.
